Latvia, official name — the Republic of Latvia is a country in the Baltic region of the Northern Europe.
Population: 2,254,653 (2010),
its capital city is Riga (709 thou. people, 2010).


Total area – 64,589 km². Border’s total length – 1150 km.
It is washed by the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga on the West,
it is bordered by Estonia to the North, by Lithuania to the South, by Russia and Belarus to the East.
It has a water border with Sweden.


Kekava County is located in the central part of Latvia and is considered to be one of the biggest and most developed counties in the country. It starts from the border of Riga, and its length is about 20 km along Riga – Bauska road.
Kekava disctrict area – 20,091 ha.
Number of inhabitants – 20,945 people.
